SweepSouth provides a platform for connecting clients to service providers, when subscribing to our service one agrees to the T's and C's outlining that SweepSouth cannot be held responsible or liable for the service provided by the SweepStar. By using the Service, you agree to hold the Company free from the responsibility for any liability or damage that might arise out of the transaction involved. The Company checks the backgrounds of service providers via third party background check services; at the time you made a Booking these checks did not reveal any cause for concern. When interacting with service providers you should exercise caution and common sense to protect your personal safety and property, just as you would when interacting with other persons whom you don't know.
The next thing we will be doing on our side is that the SweepStar Manager will reach out to the SweepStar in order to address this. This will include an explanation in their mother tongue of the situation as well as a series of questions to try to gain some clarity. We take accusations like this very seriously. The SweepStar(s) in question will naturally also be deactivated and will not be able to make use of the platform to take on any work whilst we conduct an internal investigation.
The next step will be to report this as a crime at your nearest police station as well as to report it to your insurance. This will need to be done by you as we are unable to open a case on your behalf. We will furnish you with all of the SweepStar's details in order to assist you in the opening of the docket and provide any further support you may need. Please note that we will be unable to proceed with any form of internal processes without a case number validating the incident (this includes deactivation of the SweepStar). It is imperative, from a legal point, that this is provided and we always firmly encourage clients to ensure that this step is followed to allow SweepSouth to take necessary measures.
Please note that insurance is only available for clients booking services for addresses in South Africa.
Will your insurance cover me for this loss
Unfortunately, no insurance company covers for theft of cash as there is no way for one to prove that the cash was there in the first place.
Insurers won’t cover you for any of the following:
- Traveller’s cheques
- Travel tickets
- Postal and money orders
- Promissory notes
- Gift vouchers
- Coins, or
We encourage the following:
- Don’t store large amounts of cash at home. You can’t claim from insurance.
- If you’re a businessman, take out money insurance – or bank it same day.
