In partnership with SureStart Online Financial Services (FSP no. 47233) and TPI Insurance (specialists in the digital insurance space) clients have the option to select an add-on insurance product to any booking that they book when connecting with an independent contractor (SweepStar) via the SweepSouth platform. Note that no other insurance is offered or available when you connect with an independent contractor via the platform.
You can insure your indoor and/or outdoor bookings:
- One-time booking = R19
- Recurring booking = R12/booking (savings!)
Choosing to insure your booking offers:
- Cover for a broad range of accidental breakages, damages, and loss

- Enjoy accidental damage or loss cover for household items up to R5000.
Household Items refer to free-standing stoves, freezers and fridges; and - Also enjoy all risk cover for all your movable, non-household items up to R3000.
This is categorised as All-Risk Items and are normally the smaller items of the household which are commonly taken, such as clothing.

Exclusions
Please note that this insurance does not cover certain items. Such items are, but not limited to:
- Money, electronics (cellphones), jewellery;
- items fixed to the structure (i.e if you were to turn your house upside-down, anything that fell out and broke would be covered and everything that did not, would not be covered, e.g. fixed cabinets, shower doors, etc...); and
- superficial damages (such as scratches that still leave items in working condition).

Please note: if insurance has not be opted into, unfortunately you will not be able to raise a claim against any damages, breakages or losses. Insurance is only available for clients booking services for addresses in South Africa.
PLEASE NOTE
In the event of a claim you will be required to supply the below items to SureStart (as communicated in the terms of the insurance policy):
- Details of other insurance covering the same event
- Written details of the event unless otherwise instructed
- Information and proof in support of the claim. This may include a case number in the event of theft ; photographs and/or damage reports in the event of damage. Documents or details of any communication in connection with the claim. [Any damaged/broken item must not be thrown away as you may need to provide this to the insurers as part of the assessment and for salvage]
Should you be unable to supply the above items, we cannot guarantee that your claim can be raised/assessed/paid out.
