Airbnb SweepStars will come prepared for your clean and will make use of a checklist to ensure all tasks are completed.
- The SweepStar will arrive at the property 15 minutes prior to the booking start time
- Please ensure you have all necessary cleaning products and equipment ready for your SweepStar
- The SweepStar will follow all protocols as per the checklist (below) and their training manual
- The SweepStar will complete all work as per the checklist (below) and will mark it off on the checklist
- SweepStar resets at booking complete and closes the job, informing the host that the clean has been completed
SweepStar Checklist
Step 1: Prepare
- Open outside doors and windows, and turn on fans to ventilate the area before you begin. Leave the windows open throughout the cleaning process..
- Gather all necessary items
- Protective Equipment (provided by the SweepStar)
- Disposable gloves
- Mask or cloth facial covering
- Apron or gown
- Show coverings (recommended)
- Products (provided by the host)
- Multi-surface cleaner
- Multi-surface disinfectant
- Laundry detergent
- Glass cleaner
- Furniture polish
- Toilet cleaner
- Dishwashing liquid/dishwasher tablets
- Equipment (provided by the host)
- Vacuum cleaner or broom & dustpan
- Garbage bag
- Microfibre cloths
- Extendable duster
- Mop
- Buck (if necessary)
- Locate the washing machine
- Locate the tumble dryer
- Protective Equipment (provided by the SweepStar)
Step 2: Clean
- Remove the following items and wash them at the highest heat setting recommended by the manufacturer:
- Towels
- Sheets
- Duvet covers
- Blankets
- Pillow cases and protective covers
- Use an extendable duster to clean hard-to-reach areas such as high shelves and the space behind radiators.
- Spray glass cleaner on a new microfiber towel and clean any glass, mirrors, or windows from top to bottom.
- Pull the bed away from the wall and vacuum all carpeted areas, including behind and under the bed.
- Sweep all non-carpeted areas with a broom and dustpan, including behind and under the bed.
- Mop all non-carpeted areas, paying particular attention to corners and the area behind the doors.
- Wipe down electronics with a damp microfiber cloth, following the manufacturer’s guidelines.
- Use furniture polish as needed on:
- Bed frames
- Bedside tables
- Chairs
- Clothing racks
- Other wooden furniture
- Empty any garbage cans and recycling bins, then line empty cans with fresh garbage bags.
Step 3: Sanitise
- Use a multi-surface disinfectant and spray frequently-touched surfaces and allow them to air-dry. Be sure to sanitise the following:
- TV remote
- TV screen buttons
- Telephone
- Light and plug switches
- Doorknobs/handles
- Bedside tables
- Electronics
- Clothing racks
- Clothes hangers
- Chest of drawers/armoires
- Windowsills and handles
- Blinds (including the pull cord and tilt chain)
Step 4: Reset
- Wash your hands and put on a pair of clean gloves.
- Make the bed using fresh, clean sheets, pillow cases, and a duvet or comforter.
- Replace or refill any hospitality items for the next guest (the host will provide these).
- Switch off all lights and devices.
- Close the windows, arrange the curtains/blinds, and close the door behind you.
