When you book on the SweepSouth app, you'll now see an option called Transport Support - a simple way to help your SweepStar with the cost of getting to your home. This article explains what it is and how it works. 

Why we've introduced it

Most SweepStars travel to your home by public transport — taxis, buses and trains. Those costs have risen recently, and getting to and from bookings can add up: some SweepStars spend over R100 a day just on travel.

Transport Support is a way for you, if you'd like to, to give a little back towards that journey so more of what your SweepStar earns stays in their pocket.

What is Transport Support?

Transport Support is an optional contribution you can add to your booking to help cover your SweepStar's travel costs. You choose whether to add it, and how much.

100% of your contribution goes directly to your SweepStar. Sweepsouth doesn't take any part of it.

How do I add it?

When you're booking, you'll see the Transport Support option with a few suggested amounts. Just tap the amount you'd like to add, or leave it if you'd prefer not to. There's no pressure either way, and your booking works exactly the same whether you add it or not.

Is this a tip?

Not quite. A tip is a thank-you for a job well done, usually after your clean. Transport Support is a little different - it's specifically to help with the cost of getting to your booking, and you add it upfront when you book.

You can still tip your SweepStar as you always have. Transport Support is simply an additional way to support them if you'd like to.

What about recurring bookings?

If you book a SweepStar regularly, the Transport Support amount you choose applies to each visit, since your SweepStar travels to you each time. You can change or remove it at any point by editing your booking.

Do I have to add it?

Not at all. Transport Support is completely optional. It's simply there for customers who'd like to help their SweepStar with travel, and every bit goes straight to them.
